Our Teachers
Gen Kelsang Chöyang is the Resident Teacher at Kuluta Buddhist Centre.
She has studied under Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for almost
30 years. She has taught Kadampa Buddhist classes in Courtenay, British
Columbia, Berkeley, California, Brockville, Toronto and Ottawa. Gen Chöyang is known for her sincere & practical approach to integrating
Buddhism into daily life. Her teachings are powerful and inspiring.
Bill Spurrell has been a student of Kadampa Buddhism for 30 years and is on the Foundation Program at Kuluta Buddhist Centre. He is well-loved for his warmth and kindness. His teaching style inspires people to put Dharma into practice in a jofyul and grounded manner.
Adele Chatterton is the teacher of our meditation classes in Napanee. She has been a dedicated student of Kuluta Buddist Centre for 23 years. Her light-hearted teaching style and practical approach to integrating Buddhist teachings into our daily lives make her classes inspiring and helpful in solving our everyday challenges.
Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong is the General Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU and Resident Teacher at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Center in the UK. She has devoted her life to helping others by teaching modern Buddhism – a heartfelt commitment she displays in both her inspirational teachings and her personal example. She has a deep understanding of the problems we face in the modern world and how we can solve them by developing the capacity of our mind. Gen-la Dekyong is an internationally-renowned teacher who is held in high regard by thousands of people throughout the world for her practical and extremely accessible teachings.
Gen-la Kelsang Jampa is an internationally-renowned, ordained Buddhist teacher. He is the Deputy Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU and the National Spiritual Director of Canada. As a senior NKT teacher, Gen-la Jampa has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for many years, and under Geshe-la's guidance, he has taught at many centers and events around the world. Gen-la is well-loved for his clear and inspiring teachings and his ability to touch people’s hearts through his sincerity and loving-kindness.
