Buddha Green Tara Empowerment with Teachings on Advice from Atisha's Heart with Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong and Gen-la Kelsang Jampa
Over two weeks, the Festival will emphasize teachings and meditations on Advice from Atisha's Heart from our two most senior Teachers. For the first time, all of Venerable Geshe-la's oral transmissions on the verses will be brought together, including his special advice on how to engage in retreat on this text. Through Venerable Geshe-la's encouragement and blessings, Gen-la Dekyong and Gen-la Jampa will transmit a complete commentary to all the verses.
Also, in Week One Gen-la Jampa will grant the Mahayana refuge vows and in Week Two, Gen-la Dekyong will grant the blessing empowerment of Arya Tara.
The empowerment and teachings are open to everyone regardless of experience. They are perfect teachings for those who wish to find a meaningful and beneficial way to live their life.

Gen-la Dekyong is the General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union. She is the Resident Teacher at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Center, the mother center of our tradition, and teaches extensively internationally. Gen-la studied and practiced for many years with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and is his close disciple. She is deeply respected and treasured throughout the Kadampa world for her sincere reliance on her Spiritual Guide, taking his teachings to heart and putting them into practice in every aspect of her life.
Gen-la Kelsang Jampa is the Deputy Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU) and the National Spiritual Director of Canada. He is also the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Los Angeles. As a senior NKT Teacher, Gen-la Jampa has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for many years. Under Geshe-la’s guidance, he has taught at many centres and events around the world. Gen-la is well-loved for his clear, inspiring teachings and his ability to touch people’s hearts through his sincerity and loving-kindness.
