Adopt A Print Fundraiser

One of our goals at Kuluta Buddhist Centre is to make our space an inspiring and welcoming place for everyone. Our efforts over the years have included fundraising for the purchase of upholstered chairs and a wool carpet so that we can meditate together in a comfortable place. This year, we would like to mount two beautiful framed prints on our shrine wall on either side of our Buddha Shakyamuni statue: Buddha Green Tara and Buddha Avalokiteshvara who represent wisdom and compassion respectively (see images on this page). These Buddhas are reminders of our potential to experience deep peace and mental freedom by becoming more wise, loving and compassionate through practicing Buddha’s teachings.

Please consider "adopting" a print by making a donation of any amount towards these images. All donations will receive immediate tax receipts, and all donations will be deeply appreciated. Kuluta Buddhist Centre is a registered charity that relies on the kindness of others to maintain its presence in Kingston and Brockville, so that more and more people can learn to solve their inner problems and find peace.

Green Tara is a female Buddha. Tara swiftly comes to our rescue whenever we are feeling afraid and in need of strength. By turning to her and engaging in her meditation practice, called "Liberation from Sorrow," we will develop the courage to become a fearless liberator ourself; a force for good in a troubled world.

Buddha Avalokiteshvara is the embodiment of the compassion of all Buddhas. When we turn to Avalokiteshvara and engage in his meditation practice, we connect with a beautiful, optimistic vision of possibility and transformation in which we receive and radiate love, compassion and wisdom.
